Description

Join the veterinary staff at the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute (SCBI) in Front Royal, VA during a morning animal procedure (either a clouded leopard, red panda, maned wolf, or cheetah - to be determined). Learn all about what goes into keeping our animal collections healthy, as well as assisting with the groundbreaking research in reproduction and conservation of our amazing species. Normally not open to the public, the National Zoo’s Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute (SCBI) is a 3,200-acre site in the Shenandoah Valley, where scientists and staff are engaged in multi-disciplinary research to recover endangered species, save habitat, and restore species to the wild.
