Zikomo is spread out across the banks of the Luangwa River under a canopy of flowering shade trees. Zikomo was designed to have enough space around each building to reflect the open feeling of the bush. The main lodge sits in the center of the camp because it is the center of guest activity; it is where you meet up for game drives and bush walks, where you take high tea and have all other meals, where the bar and lounge are, and in front of the lodge are the swimming pool, hammocks, and walkways to the five chalets north of the main lodge and the four chalets south of it.
