Description

This stunning original artwork (acrylic on stretched linen) represents the lion John, born at the National Zoo in 2010.

The lion John and this artwork, John, are named in honor of former National Zoo Director John Berry, who serves as the current United States Ambassador to Australia. The artist, Danielle Mate Sullivan, is of Aboriginal descent through the Kunja peoples of South Western Queensland in Australia, where Ambassador Berry is a strong advocate for Aboriginal causes. Sullivan uses her art to take young urban Aboriginal people on a journey of self-discovery, helping them connect to their culture and create something special that gives them an immediate sense of pride culturally and personally to take forward in their life. This gorgeous artwork has traveled around the world to reach Washington, DC, and eventually, your home!

The artwork's dimensions are 42” wide x 36” high. To see more from this artist: http://www.djmate.com.au/
