Description
This approachable Pinot Gris has refreshing notes of pear and meyer lemon. Floral aromas pair nicely with honeyed notes that persist through a satisfying finish.
The moderate acidity and low pH makes this dry white wine a natural with seafood and moderately spiced Asian fare.
Taft Street Pinot Gris Russian River Valley 2013 won a Silver Medal at the Sonoma County Harvest Fair.
Vinification
The wine was cold fermented in stainless steel tanks with minimal handling and fining.
Vineyard Location
The grapes for this wine came from the Vino Farms’ vineyard located on Eastside Road on the banks of the Russian River.
Vintage Conditions
Vintage conditions were much the same as 2012. No frost in springtime helped produce a bumper crop with very nice, healthy fruit. A long, mild growing season provided added hang time for the fruit. Temperatures were mild enough so the fruit did not lose acidity.
Taft Street wines can be enjoyed at the winery’s tasting room located at 2030 Barlow Lane in Sebastopol. The wines are sold online.
