Description

The wood used to make this bowl came from a Tibetan cherry tree that grew in Orinda, Ca. near the 7th hole at the Orinda Country Club. It was removed to allow room for a new garden decoration (it is a beautiful tree but a bit messy).

The bowl is 9 1/2" diameter and 4 1/2" tall and would make a very nice salad bowl.

After drying the wood for a year, two cracks appeared which is not unusual for this type of wood. The craftsman has inserted several wooden pieces which act as a "crack stoppers".  These inserts are made from a local black walnut wood and add to the interest of the piece.
