In the past Halyards owner and Gowanus resident Edward Colley spent his time converting warehouses to artist studios by day and practicing woodworking on the side. In late 2010 he decided to open his first drinking establishment, named after the ropes on his beloved sailboats, and luring folks in with a cozy room featuring a handcrafted mahogany bar and a well-priced array of premium spirits and old-timey cocktails. Stop by in the evening for a nip of ultra-local Breuckelen Gin and a toasted cheese sandwich.
