Description

Join Waverly parent, Greg Whiffen for a sailing adventure on an International Flying Dutchman racing sailboat. Don't confuse this with a mellow cruise on a large boat! The Flying Dutchman is a 6 meter long, very lightweight and responsive boat that spent 30 years as Olympic class. The boat is highly technical (meaning more than 1:6 mile of control lines), but don't worry, no previous sailing experience is necessary, just a willingness for adventure.

Your skipper will guide you through the necessary maneuvers. You can choose to wear a harness and ride the trapeze. Given the right winds, you will have a very fast (and possibly wet) ride. We will supply a shore lunch. We can accommodate up to about three people trading off riding one at a time. We can supply life jackets, trapeze harnesses, sailing gloves and a few other essentials. You will need to bring water bottles, sunscreen, etc. The venue and the targeted wind strength can be tailored to your desires.
