The story of Oakmont Country Club is in many cases a metaphor for the game of golf itself. It is a tale of high ideals and expectations, interrupted by frustrations and even disasters, followed by ultimate triumph. Most of all, it is a story of the grit and determination of generations of men and women who made Oakmont thrive from the Roaring Twenties to the dawn of a new Millennium.
