This beautiful canvas created by the Red Robin children, was inspired by a lesson on Martin Luther King, peace and kindness. The children learned that Dr. King was a very special man who helped a lot of people. He taught people about loving each other and getting along. He asked people not to fight with each other and let them know that there are peaceful ways to solve problems.

The teachers had discussions with the children on how kind, loving, peaceful words and gestures can show others that we love them. Gestures like hugging, holding hands, playing togethe, sharing and taking turns.

The children understood that even though we are different, we’re all special and beautiful, and we need to treat each other with care.

The children then painted their own little person to represent themselves in an all class collage of “People of Colors”. They had their picture taken holding hands to emphasize their paintings.

We are so proud of all the work of our Red Robins and the final product!
