3 Bottles of Chateau de Lignane 2012, AOC Cotes du Rhone Villages Rochegude Controlee, France

Item Number: 590
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
Lignane was recognized by the Romans, while Thomas Jefferson recommended the wines of Rochegude to Washington.
The Gautier family’s small estate, Château de Lignane, is a sixty hectare property, sandwiched between the villages of Suze la Rousse, Rochegude and Saint Cécile les Vignes. This estate is home to precious, gnarled old Grenache and Syrah vines.
In 2012 the region produced what has been described as a "gem of a vintage" by Decanter. This wine of 70% Greachne and 30% Syrah has aromas of plum, black currant and hints of licorice and wild herb. On the palate, it’s smooth, silky and full of ripe, spiced red and black berry flavors - the perfect match for grilled beef or venison with an herb rub.
