Description
Pagos de Tahola is a wine made by Bodegas Larchago, a family company founded in 1968 by the successors of Bodegas Chavarri in Lapuebla de Labarca (Alava). Since 1882, four generations have tended their vineyards and made their own wines here. Its exuberant fruit comes down to mature vines grown in some of Rioja's highest vineyards, and an infusion of high quality French and American oak.
Two generations of the Chavarri family are now in charge - father Francisco and daughter Ruth. Talented winemaker Miguel Lopez Nunez completes this winning partnership.
Intended to be enjoyed in its youth, this oak aged 100% Tempranillo is very much the style the locals themselves prefer, with its simple red berry flavours and subtle hints of vanilla and cloves. Be authentic and serve with tapas, grilled lamb or rabbit stew.
