Description
1 Bottle of Four Bears 2012, Central Coast, USA
From Four Bears Winery and Sean Minor Wines, this Central Coast Pinot Noir displays aromas of cherry, strawberry, and raspberry fruit with a hint of earthy notes. On the palate, the Pinot offers bright flavors of strawberry and cherry combined with hints of tobacco. The bright acidity combined with sweet oak results in a lingering finish.
1 Bottle of Votre Sante 2013, California, USA
Named after Francis Ford Coppola 's grandmother, Maria Zasa, was an Italian born in Tunisia, a French protectorate at the time. Because of this, she spoke four languages – English, Italian, Arabic and French and with each sip of wine she would offer a toast, "À votre Santé" – to your health. Votre Santé 2013 Pinot Noir reflects the beauty of the vintage. Lovely garnet color, this wine offers a tantalizing fragrance of wild strawberries, bergamot and star anise along with luscious flavors of briary raspberries, cherries and spicy oak. While we tend to like our Votre Santé Pinot on the lighter, elegant side, this year’s wine has a bit more flesh and volume to match the intense aromatics and lengthy finish, making it all the more sophisticated. Pairs beautifully with grilled mahi, lamb chops or a wild mushroom quiche.
1 Bottle of Meiomi 2013, California, USA
Meiomi means “coast” in the language of the native, coastal dwelling Wappo and Yuki tribes, and best pays tribute to and symbolizes the origin of this wine. As a fifth generation Napa Valley winemaker and the youngest son of Chuck Wagner, founder of Caymus Vineyards, Joe learned his way around a vineyard long before he was able to drink wine. This Pinot Noir is crafted, lush, balanced and luxurious. Three of the California's most sought after coastal growing regions brilliantly meld together in this deeply flavored, stylish and truly balanced Pinot Noir; at its most fundamental core, it is an approachable, food friendly wine with a style and place all its own.
1 Bottle of Mark West 2012, Santa Lucia Highlands, USA
Mark West was founded in 1978 with one desire only: To craft remarkable California Pinot Noir that delivers exceptional quality at an affordable price. Red and black cherry flaovrs abound with a note of spice from oak aging. Rich in texture with a lingering finish and versatile enough to complement just about any cuisine.
1 Bottle of Underwood 2013, Oregon, USA
Underwood draws from the diverse palette of vineyards and wine growing regions that Oregon offers to create approachable everyday drinking wines. Underwood is fast-becoming one of Oregon’s best values in Pinot Noir. Light and pretty raspberry fruit gains mass and flavor interest with well-integrated veins of stem and earth. It’s nicely balanced and true to variety.
1 Bottle of Manos Negras 2009, Patagonie, Argentina
Real winemakers get their hands dirty. Hands black with wine. That what Manos Negras is all about. Rolling up our sleeves and getting our hands dirty. That's how we make these hand-crafted wines. The 2009 Pinot Noir from Patagonia. It was native fermented with malolactic in barrel followed by 12 months of aging in 20% new French oak. Toasty oak, earthy mineral, rose petal, cherry, and raspberry aromas titillate the nose while pointing to an elegant, smooth-textured, varietally correct Pinot with good balance and length.
