About Corrib Pub:

The business was acquired in December of 1969 from Mr. John McMahon. It was originally MacMahon's Cafe. The Corrib's name came about due to a decision made with the original partners, Hubert Bligh, Pat Kane, and Patrick Bligh. They decided to name it after Lough Corrib a scenic area in West Galway, Ireland. Boston and Brighton in particular has a large population from the West of Ireland and thus they thought it would make a great name.
.....It started out as working man's bar. It was a large meeting place for the new Irish Citizen's making there way to the greater Boston area. The Corrib has stood the test of time and is still a place people come for business as well as pleasure. Even toady the Corrib is one of the best spots to come and celebrate Saint Patrick's Day. Our family has grown as has our business. We have expanded to may locations, including the Brookline location,  and still today the business is run by the many members of the Bligh Family.
