Description
1 private yoga session (60 mins) by yoga teacher Ann-Mary Kay.
Location: Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn.
Ann-Mary teaches Vinyasa Flow (educated at Laughing Lotus NYC; Lotus College of Yoga) and Restorative yoga (trained in Relax & Renew by Judith Lasater).
Vinyasa Flow:
Vinyasa yoga is sometimes also called flow yoga, because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance. The breath becomes an important component because the teacher will instruct you to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. Vinyasa is literally translated from Sanskrit as meaning "connection,". The feel of my classes is like a dance. It's finding your own unique movements in and out of the poses to some awesome music playlists. It's about joy, freedom and celebration of life!
Restorative Yoga:
We work very hard in our lives, and while we may sleep, we rarely take time to rest. Restorative yoga poses help us learn to relax and rest deeply and completely. Think pillows, bolsters, warm blankets, eye pillow, essential oils and relaxing music. It's luxurious!
During deep relaxation, all the organ systems of the body are benefited, and a few of the measurable results of deep relaxation are the reduction of blood pressure, serum triglycerides and blood sugar levels in the blood, the increase of the "good cholesterol" levels, as well as improvement in digestion, fertility, elimination, the reduction of muscle tension, insomnia and generalized fatigue.
