Untitled (Spiral), 2014, Encaustic on watercolor paper, 12" x 12" Framed Ellie Murphy's artwork, with its nostalgic materials and methods, straddles the line between childhood and adulthood, while it also questions the borders between fine art and traditional craft forms. She was raised in central Kansas and has a BFA from Washington University in St. Louis and an MFA from Yale University. She will be showing at Schema Projects in Brooklyn and Leslie Heller Gallery in Manhattan this Spring.
