Description
Join the Murder Task Force for a Day!
My name is Jennifer Hodel. I am an attorney with the Murder Task Force of the Law Office of the Cook County Public Defender. Specifically, I am appointed to represent defendants who have been charged with murder and cannot afford to retain an attorney on their own. I have been with the office since 1998, and have been with the Murder Task Force since 2010.
As an attorney with the Murder Task Force, my day-to-day responsibilities can vary from a wide array of things, including: court appearances that may or may not include litigation (e.g., hearings, motions or trials), visiting clients whether at the Cook County Department of Corrections or the Illinois Department of Corrections, and investigations.
As a part of your day on the Murder Task Force, we can tailor the experience to what interests you most whether its going to court, observing some litigation, case meetings at the Illinois State Police or the Cook County Medical Examiner, or hitting the streets to do some investigation on a case, like checking out the crime scene, taking pictures, or attempting to talk to witnesses.
For NCP students only. To be scheduled on a mutually agreed upon date. Expires March 1st, 2016.
Special Instructions
Feel free to ask questions about this unique, one-of-a-kind experience for your NCP student, current or incoming Freshman class of 2019.
