Marcus Fenner, manager of New York's venerable Marshall chess club attests: "I have had the chance to observe Robert in teaching kids of various ages and skill levels and I was very impressed. He has developed original material and techniques and is, without doubt, the best teacher for young children I have ever met."
Robert has spent his life playing and promoting chess. He began playing in nationally rated tournaments as a young boy. 30 years ago Robert became a candidate master. Robert began teaching and coaching children full-time 20 years ago. He later organized and put on the 1995 National Elementary Championships, hosting over 1,200 young players. He has served as a State Association President and as a voting delegate to the US Chess Federation. Robert is also a 3-time state champion and earned a Life 2200 title in 1996. He has taught thousands of children to play and improve their chess and has coached many teams to States and Nationals including coaching a 2004 Kindergarten team that became National Champions. Robert loves to see kids falling in love with chess and is here to make sure they have the best time of their lives, as they grow and succeed in their chess.
