Description

Bodega Chacra is the brainchild of winemaker Piero Incisa della Rocchetta, grandson of Mario Incisa, the maker of the seminal Super-Tuscan wine, Sassicaia.

Piero Incisa follows in his grandfather's trailblazing footsteps. Just as Mario Incisa realized his dream of creating a Bordeaux-style blend in the outback of Bolgheri, Piero had a dream of crafting a Burgundy-style wine outside of France. Piero's dream took him on a bumpy ride to an arid, windswept plain in the Rio Negro Valley of northern Patagonia, where he found a plot of land with an abandoned pre-phylloxera Pinot Noir vineyard planted in 1932. In 2004, Piero founded Bodega Chacra on that spot.

The Lucky winner will get two types of the Pinot Noir Bottlings: the flagship Treinta y Dos (2010 and 2011), a single vineyard expression deriving from the original vineyard planted in 1932; and it's feminine counterpart, Chacra Cincuenta y Cinco (2009 and 2010), a cru from a vineyard planted in 1955.
