This art is from the estate of John (Jack) Paul, an East Bay art collector who had a collection of Mexican folk art from the 1960s and 1970s. Jack knew many of the artists personally and recently donated the bulk of his collection to the Phoebe Hearst Art Museum in Berkeley, CA. This piece was not included in the donation because the artist could not be identified. The piece was donated to the Monroe Elementary online auction by Jacks goddaughter.
