Meet the novelist whose book
I Smile Back has just opened as a film, starring Sarah Silverman in her first serious role. Lilith published Amy Koppelman first! Her short story "The Groom" appeared in 2002, and Koppelman has gone on to publish three acclaimed novels in addition to
I Smile Back: 
A Mouthful of Air and
Hesitation Wounds. Mary Karr called this last one  "…a marvel of a book in terms of language and character and story."
