Description
This tapestry is one of the textiles that are made by Maya-speaking craftswomen in the village of Yaxunah in the State of Yucatan, Mexico. All proceeds from their sales go directly back to the women. There is no high school in Yaxunah, so they use the proceeds to help send their children to another community to continue their education. These funds help them cover transportation, food, clothing, and book costs.
The tapestry is mounted in a black frame measuring 19"x23".
