Po is reveling in his role as the Dragon Warrior when word arrives of a new villain, the evil Lord Shen. Once next in line to the throne of peaceful Gongmen City, Shen was instead exiled for his unforgiveable actions. Now, he has returned with a terrifying weapon of mass destruction, the cannon, and is determined to conquer all of China. Po and the furious five travel to Gongmen City to bring Shen to justice, but when Po begins having confusing flashbacks, he finds himself unable to act. His hesitation leads to his friends’ capture and his near death. A mysterious soothsayer rescues him and eventually helps him to uncover his shocking connection with Lord Shen and find the inner peace needed to defeat him.

Po and the Furious Five uncover the legend of three of kung fu's greatest heroes: Master Thundering Rhino, Master Storming Ox, and Master Croc.
