The high bidder will get a full Family Pass For the California Cavern Walk Tour At CAVE AND MINE ADVENTURES.  Located 15 minutes east of historic Highway 49 out of San Andreas, California Cavern is in the heart of the Mother Lode Gold Country.  The cavern, like most of the surrounding area, is rich with history.   

The guided "Trail of Lights" tour encompasses areas of the cavern that were discovered by gold miners in teh 1850s, as well as a room originally discovered in 1962, then rediscovered in 1980.

To begin the tour, you will walk on a scenic trail bordering the Cave City valley which brings you to the cavern entrance.  Once inside you will travel 1/2 mile on lighted trails through 7 rooms that connect by passageways of all sizes and shapes, viewing beautiful calcite formations as you learn about the unique history of the cavern and the surrounding area of historic Cave City that built up around the cavern.  

The cavern trails are rustic, buildt upon the natural clay floor, with some stairs and handrails situated along most of the trail.  Low ceilings in some areas make it necessary to wear a protective bump cap, provided by the tour company.  For your comfort, good walking shoes are highly recommended.  Due tot he nature of the trail, purses, backpacks and strollers are better left behind.  Small children in front packs are allowed with care.  The cavern is a cool 53 degrees so dress accordingly.
