Her Secret was founded by Helen Owens, an award-winning, nationally recognized celebrity hairstylist and hair weaving/hair extension specialist who is also a hair loss survivor.  Helen Owens has over 25 years experience in designing and creating couture hair weaving, extensions, and handmade wigs for theater and everyday wear.  Ms. Owens spent the majority of her career providing Hair Couture in the Bay Area and continues the tradition for women everywhere.  She has been featured in local and national media for her work in cutting edge hair styling, hair treatments, and her advanced hair extension and hair-replacement techniques (a sample of her accolades follows). Ms. Owens has contributed to the American Cancer Society’s Look Good Feel Better program and received service awards in hair styling for her contributions in the Bay Area.

Ms. Owens has also styled public figures for years, including such celebrities as the original Dreamgirl  Tony-award-winning singer and actress Jennifer Holliday (see the video here), former It’s Raining Men “Weather Girl” Izora Armstead and R&B legend Sylvester. Professional athletes include Chryste Gaines, Inger Miller, and the late Florence Griffith Joyner to name a few.
