This planter is first thrown on the potters wheel and then carved to resemble organic sea-life and to show off the air plant to it's maximum. The planter comes with one air plant and is fastened with 18'' chord. Air plants require very little care and are a perfect statement piece for the bathroom or kitchen. Simply mist the plant daily, or emerge in water once a week for about ten minutes.



Katie Carey is a ceramicist working with sculptural forms that incorporate functionality. She is currently an Artist-in-Residence at the Genesee Pottery in Rochester, New York. She received her BA from the University of Michigan in 2009 and has experience in a variety of arts institutions including the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College and the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit. She has completed residencies at the Rochester Folk Art Guild and the Byrdcliffe Arts Colony in Woodstock, New York.
