Chesterwood is the former summer home, studio, and gardens of America's foremost public sculptor, Daniel Chester French(1850-1931), Celebtrated as the Dean of America Sculpture, French is best known for the MInute Man in Concord, MA, and Abrham Lincon for the Lincoln Memorial in Washington,D.C.
Explore an artist's retreat and discover the place French called heaven on earth. You can also enjoy his studio.

From Stockbridge stay on route 102 west. At the flashing light make a left onto route 183 south. 1/4 past the Norma Rockwell Museum turn right onto Mohawk Lake Rd and then Left onto Willow Street which becomes Williams Road the unpaved road to Chesterwood on your right. From Lenox just go by Tanglewood and contine on 183 past the Norman Rockwell Museum and right onto Mohawk Lake Rd, left on Willow and then on to Chesterwood. It is a short drive from both Sotckbridge and a straight road from Lenox.
