As our world becomes increasingly globalized, preserving our cultural identity becomes increasingly important. Porter Lyons is inspired not only by a desire to document culture, but also by an insistence to share and preserve it.

In every collection, Porter Lyons documents culture through design by highlighting the wonders and idiosyncrasies that set each one apart. The first collection is inspired by New Orleans, a city inundated with mysticism, spirituality, hurricanes, and history. A city insistent on living in the present, proud of its idiosyncrasies, and varied in its beauty. A portion of the proceeds of this collection benefits wetland preservation.

Porter Lyons is committed to furthering education and protecting the environment of people and places around the world. In the first collection, inspired by New Orleans, PL focuses it’s efforts on Louisiana. The loss of Louisiana’s coast is perhaps the largest preventable environmental crisis in America. Louisiana loses one football field of coastline every half hour. Porter Lyons is committed to restoring and protecting a sustainable and vibrant coast by donating 5% of all profits to the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana. Furthermore, Louisiana has the second lowest literacy rate in the country. To bring awareness to this challenge, and support a program dedicated to finding a solution, Porter Lyons has created a unique jewelry piece for Light Up for Literacy, launching in September. 50% of all profits of this piece are donated to the program.

Porter Lyons delves into a culture, becoming immersed in the history, the language, the people, and the traditions. Through this immersion, aspects about each culture that make it unique rise to the surface. These aspects, or subjects, inspire each of the mini-collections that combine to express the culture as a whole. The collection inspired by New Orleans shares the land, the environment, the animals, the history, and the spirituality through design.
