Description

Sterling silver has always been a valuable and cherished possession, handed down from generation to generation. This collection of silver is from Fine Arts Sterling Silver Company and Wm. Rogers Mfg. Co.

Rogers Bros. silverware is highly sought after by antique silver collectors and aficionados. The company dates to the early 1800s when it was founded by William, Asa and Simeon Rogers. By the mid-1800s, Rogers Bros. silverware became popular as it perfected the process of electroplating silver. It was sold to International Silver Co. in the late 1890s.

Fine Arts Silver Company was established in 1944 and went out of business in 1979 making its flatware patterns rare and valuable.

This set includes the Wm. Rogers Avalon pattern (c.1940) flatware of 1 icecream serving spoon, 2 gumbo soup spoons, 1 teaspoon and 1 serving fork. And the Fine Arts Silver Co. Southern Colonial pattern (c.1945) flatware of 6 grill knives, 6 butter knives, 1 icecream serving spoon, a cake server and fork set, 2 large serving spoons and a large carving knife and fork set. It also includes a wooden storage box lined with anti-tarnish cloth.
