Description

Woodworker, Herb Kaneko, has created this beautiful solid Koa jewelry box. The interior is lined with black velvet  that will protect your valuables from scratching. It has a hinged flip top lid and is perfect on your night stand for jewelry. A beautiful keepsake that will be treasured for years to come! It measures approximately 7"x5".

Koa wood was used by ancient Hawaiians to build dugout canoes and surfboards. The reddish wood is very similar in strength and weight to that of Black Walnut and is popular for use in high-end wood carving, furniture, guitars and ukuleles. It takes 20-25 years for a Koa tree to grow mature enough for harvesting.
