A Unique Business Model
A recent turn of events allowed the fortunate bonding of two great friends into a business opportunity that just couldn’t be passed up. With the amazing baking skills of Melissa Carlisle and the business acumen of Betty Black, Essence Cakery has embarked on creating a unique brand and experience for the people of Dallas and the surrounding areas.

With cupcakes enjoying the recent spotlight, especially with shows like Cupcake Wars on the Food Network, Essence Cakery decided it was time to create a business that provided the same level of quality and customer experience with more than just cupcakes. While cupcakes will always be a huge part of Essence Cakery, as evidenced by the new Cupcake Bar™ where you can build the cupcake you want, we wanted to expand that to include occasion cakes, including birthday’s and weddings.

We hope, with time, we can open future locations to bring the Essence experience to more and more people throughout the metroplex. While it’s nice that people have traveled over 30 minutes just to get a hold of one of Melissa’s Raspberry Cupcake, we want to be able to bring that closer to you.
