Description
This is a full Occupational Therapy evaluation conducted by Lynn Herlihy, MS, OTR/L. Lynn can assess your child’s fine motor and visual-motor skills, handwriting, and sensory processing. If you are concerned about your child’s development in any of these areas, an OT evaluation can help target any areas of need and outline a plan for improvement. Lynn works with preschool through school-aged children (age 3 to 5th grade). A full evaluation includes a phone consultation and a 4-page written report, based on about 90-minutes of testing. Testing includes standardized measures to determine your child’s strengths and any areas of weakness in fine motor skills and dexterity, range of motion and strength, gross motor skills (balance, coordination, strength), sensory processing abilities, visual-motor and visual-perceptual skills, and self-care tasks. A full OT evaluation is recommended if your child is preschool age and having difficulty with manipulating items with his/her hands, coloring and drawing, self-care skills, or sustaining attention to task; or your school-aged child is struggling with grasp on pencil or scissors, producing legible and organized written work, using classroom tools and materials, or staying focused throughout the school day.
Evaluation will take place at Lynn's office, located at 433 Third Avenue, Brooklyn. (Purchaser can also discuss if another testing location, such as home or school, is more appropriate for the child).
