"Senfkorn-Schrift" is a framed print made and signed by the artist, Sophie Lapp, of her own original Fraktur painting.  

Painting shows excerpts from Matthew 13:

"The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which, when sown upon the earth is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it has grown it is the greatest of all the shrubs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air can make nests in its branches."

Frame size is approximately 13" x 16".

Sophie Lapp is a local artist who grew up in Goshen, Indiana. She is currently beginning MDiv studies at AMBS in Elkhart, while continuing to be involved at her home congregation, College Mennonite Church. Sophie began painting fraktur after graduating from Goshen College in 2013, where she first studied this art form. This interest was passed down from her great grandfather, Bishop John E. Lapp who began painting fraktur after his retirement in Eastern Pennsylvania.
