You are bidding on an authentic Domestic brand, treadle sewing machine, complete with beautiful cabinet, six drawers, and all the keys and spare parts. This beautiful antique came to the auction late, but it is so nice, we decided to add it to the silent auction.

Domestic sewing machine company started in 1861 making parts and made their first complete machine in 1864. They outlasted all the other "innovators" but ceased operation in the 1930's depression.  Their claim to fame was any thickness of material would smoothly go through their machine. Their machines were not only workhorses but also works of art.
