Description
Title & Artist: "The Cod of Summers Past" – by Tammy Picone-Nohelty
Medium & Size: Cut paper, acrylic paint, and mica flakes on wood. 21 7/8" L x 8 5/8" H x 3/4" D. For indoor display only.
Artist Statement: Never wanting to travel too far from home during the 4th of July in Marblehead, it occurred to me when working on the Codfish that the place I call home is the very essence of what the cod should embody. Each fish scale is a small image of Marblehead Festival of Arts exhibition venues, from the Old Town House to Abbot Hall. Each building houses the creativity, life, and heart of the Festival and creates a place called home for me. Oh yeah, and I added in a little Marblehead Lighthouse too, for good measure. I hope you enjoy the Cod as much as I have enjoyed the last 20 years of memories to create it.
