Artist Statement: The Marblehead Festival of Arts has always been a part of our family. From my earliest memories, my parents, sister, and I have spent the 4th of July holiday setting up art exhibits, photographing the street festival, or working the information booth. When asked if I would be interested in creating a cod to commemorate the 50th Festival, I was thrilled to participate.
Generally, my favorite art medium to work in is pen and ink. When designing the cod "Marblehead Ink", I allowed my imagination to develop the concept and final rendering of images that reminded me of the sea and our hometown. Congratulations to the MFoA on its 50th Festival!
