Description

Many carriage roads are used by hikers, bikers, and horseback riders -- all at the same time! Back country patrollers give information and directions to visitors, are alert to improper land use, and observe and report anything like fallen trees or road depressions. They need radios to keep in touch with Rangers, advising them of emergencies or other activities.

The Preserve's volunteer patrol members promote responsible land usage and assist our over 165,000 yearly visitors to respectfully and safely use Preserve facilities.

The volunteer patrol members are a vital part of the Mohonk Preserve community.

Your contribution will help fund radios that are used by the volunteer patrol members to keep in contact with Rangers to report emergencies or other activities.
