Charlie Heimbuch-Skaley is a landscape designer, builder, and knowledgeable plant person. Although from the east coast, Charlie has lived in the Bay Area for nearly 12 years, appreciating the close connections of nature and urban living that thrive in this region. "As a student of philosophy and art, Landscape Design fell in line easily after I took a series of horticulture classes at City College of San Francisco. Later receiving a certificate in Landscape Construction, I went on to become a Designer and Project Manager at Janet Moyer Landscaping in S.F., where I am currently working, in addition to having my own Landscape Design business in Oakland. Designing outdoor urban spaces can mean creating a place to relax, cook, play, or socialize. Very often this means creating another room; one that combines functionality, beauty, and comfort. During the design process we will discuss what your hopes and desires are for your outdoor space, your personal style, and your favorite plants. I will then gather your ideas and mine, and draft a design complete with any or all of the following: hardscaping (patios, decks, stepping stones), plants (chosen with consideration of California's dry conditions), drip irrigation, and lighting." Includes a design meeting with the client, site survey with measurements of the space, and plans for hardscaping (deck/patio), plant selection, irrigation, and lights. Installation not included.
