Description

Guided day trip by canoe or kayak on the Connecticut River in Essex County on a date and reach to be selected with the winning bidder. Tim McKay is a conservationist who has paddled this river for 35 years and is intimately familiar with the river and the surrounding valley and mountains. The 80 miles of river between Canaan and Lancaster is the only significant stretch of free-flowing water on the entire river, and we will pick a stretch for a day's paddle. Minimal experience is needed. There are a number of sections of quick but not difficult water and spectacular scenery. We will explore classic examples of river dynamics at work, look at classic floodplain forest in all stages of its development, and farms interspersed with wild habitat where cross-river corridors are being protected. Osprey and eagles are common here. Provide your own boat and transportation.

The limit for the offer is for 3 boats and 6 people.
