Description

Great Moments in Sports Vintage Sports Broadcasts from the Golden Age of Radio. Over 17 hours on 20 CD’s.

Travel back to the golden age of American sports broadcasting where storytelling was an art form and Bill Stern and Dizzy Dean were the masters. Their eclectic roster of guests ran from sports greats like Babe Ruth, Casey Stengel and Joe Louis, to an amazing assortment of celebrities such as Lucille Ball, Henny Youngman, Gene Autry, Mickey Rooney and Guy Lombardo. Their stories ran the gamut from major league sports to playground phenomenons. You’ll also thrill to the 1949 World Series between the Yankees and the Dodgers with play-by-play commentary; epic boxing bouts between Joe Louis and Jersey Joe Walcott or Floyd Patterson and Ingmar Johansson. The original broadcasts have all been painstakingly restored to create a unique journey into our nation’s darkest hours and finest moments.
