Description

This is a 1964 Mint set of uncirculated coins from the Denver Mint and the Philadelphia Mint--containing--Kennedy Half Dollar, Quarter, Dime, Nickel and Penny--includes the mint seal tab too.

Within months after the tragedy in Dallas in November of 1963, congress had authorized a new half Dollar to honor John Kennedy. Frank Gasparo's design was quickly put into production, and this 1964 official U.S. Mint set contains 90% silver Kennedy Half Dollars from both the Philadelphia and Denver Mints. This is the only year the coin was minted in standard coinage silver. Also included in this year's set are the four other circulation coins from both the Denver and Philadelphia Mint: The Lincoln Cent, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime and Washington Quarter. Each is sealed in original U.S. Mint packaging.
