Descanso Gardens is an urban retreat of year-round natural beauty. Collections include camellias, Coast Live Oaks, California native plants, and roses, as well as seasonal horticultural displays. We offer a variety of festivals and special programs; summer jazz concerts; an onsite art gallery featuring rotating exhibits; and miles of walking paths perfect for enjoying our Southern California climate.

In 1953, Descanso founder E. Manchester Boddy preserved these 160 acres of gardens, woodlands and chaparral for future generations to experience the natural heritage and beauty of Southern California. A member-supported garden and 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Descanso Gardens is accredited by the American Association of Museums.

Descanso Gardens is located where the 2 and 210 freeways meet, just 20 minutes from downtown Los Angeles. Open 364 days per year (closed Christmas Day). Admission is $9 for adults, $6 for seniors and students, $4 for children 5-12 and free for children under 5.
