Description

Winner will receive a Children's Art Workshop (CW) Summer Camp at the School of the Art Institute (SAIC) - 4-9 year olds.

1- and 2-week sessions: June 13–August 19, 2016

In SAIC's Multi-Arts Camps, kids learn to discover, explore, and imagine in their own unique ways, experimenting with a variety of art materials and methods that encourage the development of creative thinking and problem solving skills. With the most summer camp options in Chicago, your children will be inspired by our fantastic downtown location, exceptional instruction, and regular opportunities to explore the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago museum.

Camps are grouped by ages 4–5, 6–7, and 8–9. Campers work together on a variety of fun projects and experience the joys of making art with old and new friends. Projects include painting, drawing, mixed-media, sculpture, printmaking, performance, digital art, and more.

Campers enroll for morning, afternoon, or both* timeslots (all day) with no duplication of projects. Each 1- and 2-week camp will have a new and exciting theme, so students can enroll in multiple sessions.

*Multi-Arts Camp: Ages 4–5 is a morning-only camp.

Where kids explore, imagine, and discover!

At the core of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago's (SAIC) Children's Workshops in Art and Creativity (CW) is the belief that nurturing creative potential stands at the center of preparing children for life. Whether a child develops into an artist or scientist, encouraging the creative process is essential in the early educational years. In our multiarts workshops and camps, children learn to explore, imagine, and discover in their own unique ways as we help them on their path to becoming the creators, innovators, and problem-solvers of the future. As we explore art and culture through studio projects and Art Institute of Chicago museum visits, children learn a new language centered on art and design and the history and importance of these practices.
