Wilmington Rowing Center's Learn-to-Row course are a series of two-hour sessions for adults over the age of 18. Designd to give prospective rowers an introduction to the sport, our classes focus on the basic of sweep rowing.
Learn-to-Row starts indoors with safety training, boat handling basics, and the teaching of the rowing stroke on rowing machines as wel as indoor tank work. Subsequent sessions will be on the water with students joining experienced rowers in 8-person shells. The courses are taught by an experienced coach. By the end of the course, you will have learned the basics of sweep rowing and upon graduation you will be able to join the rowing club, if you choose to do so.
Sessions normally run April-May-June, Sunday through Friday either 6am-8am or 6pm-8pm. There are at least two sessions of each to choose from. Session fill quickly and registration is required.
Must be used for the 2016 Learn-to-Row. Must by 18 years or older. Winner contact WRC so can be advise to the date of registration, which usually opens late March or early April.
