Description

Alpana Ahuja collaborated with Wally to create this stunning image on canvas. The footprint was created with tremendous patience, subject entirely to Wally's decision to participate in the process- largely influenced by bananas and other treats.

Wally (also known as Walnut) is part of the Nut Herd, four elephants who were rescued together by Wildlife SOS from a circus in April of 2015. At 18 years old, he spent far too many years suffering and restrained by ropes. Now that he resides at the Elephant Conservation and Care Center, Wally has become energetic and playful, and even seems to enjoy it when the veterinarians give him a check up (maybe it's all the treats he gets during the process!)

The Padhchinh Collection:

These unique prints represent the impact the elephants have on Alpana as an artist, while illustrating her positive and forward-looking journey. Her time with the rescued elephants at the Wildlife SOS Sanctuary has taught her that love and kindness can heal elephants.  Proceeds from this collection go to support the Wildlife SOS Elephant Conservation and Care Center in Mathura.
