Padhchinh 85 - original footprint painting by elephant Peanut and artist Alpana Ahuja

Item Number: 215
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
Alpana Ahuja collaborated with Peanut to create this stunning image on canvas, and it's the first time Peanut's footprint has been captured this way. The footprint was created with tremendous patience, subject entirely to Peanut's decision to participate in the process- largely influenced by bananas and other treats.
In April 2015, Peanut became the youngest elephant to ever be rescued by Wildlife SOS. This 6 year old lost her childhood to the circus, and would never have known the joys of being an elephant if she hadn’t been rescued. Today, Peanut is a delight to watch as she runs around following the other big elephants at the facility, occasionally poking them playfully with her trunk. Peanut is happiest when splashing about in the pool or munching on her favourite snacks.
The Padhchinh Collection:
These unique prints represent the impact the elephants have on Alpana as an artist, while illustrating her positive and forward-looking journey. Her time with the rescued elephants at the Wildlife SOS Sanctuary has taught her that love and kindness can heal elephants. Proceeds from this collection go to support the Wildlife SOS Elephant Conservation and Care Center in Mathura.
