Harry Kalas was the iconic voice of Phillies baseball for two generations before passing away on April 13, 2009 after spending 39 seasons as the "Voice of the Phillies".  Kalas was the soundtrack of the summer in Philadelphia and the man behind the microphone for the only two World Series Championship teams in teh 127-year history of the Phillies along with six no-hitters, 548 Mike Schmidt home runs, Pete Rose's record-breaking hit and every Steve Carlton pitch. Know for an easygoing style and a deep, resonating voice, Kalas has been embraced by generations of Philadelphians and sports fans worldwide. He received the Ford C. Frick award for his contributions to baseball broadcasting and was enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2002.
