Cast bronze (lost wax)

Elizabeth Lind, originally from Seattle, grew up in New York City where she studied and performed ballet.   Relocating to Rhode Island, she earned her masters degree from RISD while also managing an art gallery.  Maintaining a carving studio for over 20 years, Elizabeth creates in stone life-size figures of women and their environments- either real or imagined. She travels to Italy, researching sites rich in ancient female artifacts, mythology, and history.

Arabesque” is a lost wax bronze casting depicting a dancer at rehearsal. This piece is a reflection of times spent in NYC dance studios, studying at the New York Conservatory of Dance at Carnegie Hall. This bronze is the only one of it’s kind, and not part of an edition.
