For over 20 years I have explored and photographed the shorelines of New England and the outer banks of North Carolina. I am especially intrigued by the waves—their ever-changing size and power. “Breaking Waves II,” is a monoprint. The images of the waves and rocks were created from photographic elements, which I enlarged and transferred to polyester litho plates. These images were then printed on a prepared monotype of sand, water and sky. - Alice Nolan Merlone
