This oak, lap jointed, hand hewn, double pegged beam was used in an 18th Century New England barn. Artist Stephen C. Staples has cleverly adapted this antique into a one-of-a-kind item for your home. Stephen C. Staples has collected antiques of all kinds since he was a young boy.  In 1973 he opened a furniture restoration business that grew into making reproduction furniture.  By the late 1980's he built architectural millwork for historical buildings.  For the past 17 years Stephen salvages antique materials and incorporates them into unique creative art furniture for today and future generations.
