Description

Summer K.A.R.E. Camp, run by Reed mom Amy Barnett, provides children and young teens (ages 8-14) opportunities to contribute their time in a variety of fun ways. Campers are introduced to different organizations every day of camp and shown creative ways to volunteer throughout the year.

This auction item is for a 1 week session of camp that runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Every day at K.A.R.E. Camp will feel unique and different. Campers discuss various types of causes and affiliations and ways they might be able to help. And after learning proper etiquette and safety rules of volunteering, they will participate in fun hands-on projects. Most days include site visits to pre-selected, age-appropriate non-profit organizations.

Fun-raiser Fridays: Fun-raiser Fridays are the last day of camp and dedicated to a cooperative project which is discussed, planned, and led by the campers. Money raised from Fun-raiser Fridays is divided among campers. Campers and their families, together, decide where and how to donate.

Children have so much fun that they forget they’re volunteering.
